it’s a misty, dreary morning. a fine blue gravel trail with puddles scattered intermittently from the last three nights of rain. so quiet. my feet on the ground are all i hear for awhile, they beat a steady 185 while my heart hums 165. ditches on either side of the trail are swollen with water, unexpected streams that break the quiet. there are no leaves remaining on the trees, the only colours are the deep pine evergreens and the bright shock of red holly berries among the barren branches. my shorts sit low on my hips, and i feel that easy familiar rhythm of running without thinking about running. it feels so natural and my mind wanders peacefully, contentedly, gratefully. there are a few miles of rain where it feels like i could be 14, running a cross country course, alone out in front basking in the rain like i used to. i pick it up the last 3, just because it feels good.

Breakfast from this morning 😍 oats topped with banana, pomegranate seeds, blackberries, @earthbalance coconut peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, and @purely_elizabeth granola 😋👌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To make the oatmeal I cooked it in 1 cup water with cinnamon + chia seeds then right before it was finished I added in half a mashed banana and a little bit of maple syrup!Instagram - goodhealthgoodvibes
